Black Knot

Black Knot was created as a social comment on police violence against minorities back in 2016. Police violence continues to be an issue for minority groups in America.

Christopher Meyer is an Associate Professor of Sculpture at the University of South Dakota where he teaches both BFA and MFA students. Meyer serves on the Board of the Western Cast Iron Art Alliance and was the most recent host of the Biennial Western Cast Iron Art Conference.

Additionally, Meyer hosts an annual iron pour at his home studio in rural South Dakota each summer, "The Little Pour on the Prairie". Meyer creates sculptural objects, installations and cast iron performance works.
