Born and raised in Milwaukee WI, Scott developed an affinity for visual art at an early age. After graduating from Milwaukee High School of the Arts, he moved to Minneapolis MN where he lived and worked for several years and eventually earned a BFA from the University of Minnesota.
Presently Scott is an MFA candidate studying sculpture at Arizona State University, where he teaches 3D Design Foundations and Introduction to Foundry. While Scott has worked in a variety of mediums over the years including ceramics, mixed-media, fabricated metal and wood, cast metal is a reoccurring favorite.
Since 2011 he's been an active member of the cast metal art community. Scott is a board member and co-founder of Igneous Metal Arts, a Minneapolis based 501C3 dedicated to the preservation and accessibility of foundry arts in the upper Midwest.
Additionally, he’s been an artist participant in iron pour events in a wide variety of locations including: Alabama, Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Germany.
Recently, Scott was a panelist and presenter at the 2022 International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art held in Berlin Germany and was the recipient of the 2023 Arizona Artists Guild Award Scholarship.
