These castings were attempted at my first DOTF back in 2010. When 2 of my new patterns didn't pull correctly, Kelly stepped in and suggested that we connect with a colleague of his up at a commercial foundry in Minneapolis.

That was my foot in the door to no only finish this waffle maker concept, but was the resource that helped me finish casting the giant iron map titled "Made In America", and eventually was the foundry that I first contracted to run production on the Wisconsin, Minnesota + Illinois state skillets under the American Skillet Company brandname.

All of this was indirectly started at DOTF!! It is the spirit to proceed, to try a new way, and to lean into your tribe when you need them- cause they are always going to step up to the challenge!
