Tentative Schedule of Events for 2024

Tuesday, July 2nd

  • 6-8pm - On-Site Workshop - come ask questions about the available processes, bring something you want to make in iron or just come with an idea - we are here to help get you started

Wednesday, July 3rd

  • Sand Studio opens

  • 6-8pm - On-Site Workshop for pattern making, scratch tiling direction or multi-part mold-making assistance - come with your questions, ideas + get to work with guidance from our volunteer artists

Thursday, July 4th

  • 1-3pm - On-Site Workshop for pattern making, scratch tiling direction or multi-part mold-making assistance - our knowledgeable volunteers are here to help bring your idea to fruition

  • Iron Farmers Market art show Closing Reception at 7pm - everyone is invited to ArtHaus

Friday, July 5th

  • 6-8pm Scoop n Scratch Experience - a sculptural ice cream social for the public - more details HERE

  • Sand Studio closes at 11:59pm local time

Saturday, July 6th - Pour Day

  • Multi-part molds banded + ready for the pour floor queue by 10am

  • Scratch tiles completed by 3pm

  • Molten metal begins around 6pm - spectator experience is free (opportunities to donate if inspired are available on site or through the Become a Sponsor section of the Registration page)

Sunday, July 7th

  • Clean up: the pour floor, camping areas, common areas, etc

  • Weigh pieces + settle up with final payment

  • Rendezvous at the river before hitting the road or returning to the Farm to help with clean-up

This annual event caters to your desires to reunite with or find your iron family while sharing a wealth of diverse experience to bring your creative vision to life.

Enthusiasts, beginners and experts are invited to participate in our family-style meals + camp on-site in order to focus on what really matters: people, art + how they feed each others souls.

As a spectator or participant, Down on the Farm Iron Pour is an opportunity to observe and add to the history of human ingenuity in the center of the United States, Decorah, Iowa.
